Role Summary

Responsibilities

  • Perform or oversee all plasma center tasks as needed and supervise donor flow.
  • Ensure familiarity and compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations, FDA SOPs, OSHA, CLIA, cGMP, and internal procedures.
  • Supervise donor selection, plasma collection, and manufacturing records to maintain production standards in accordance with regulations, FDA SOPs, OSHA, CLIA and cGMP.
  • Attend required training sessions and staff meetings.
  • Ensure accurate and complete documentation of required records.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly facility and ensure equipment is in good working order under the guidance of the Center Manager/Assistant Manager.
  • Submit timely, accurate reports as required by the Center Manager/Assistant Manager.
  • Assist in the control of center donor funds as directed.
  • Assist in training of new and current employees.
  • Maintain active communication with other service areas to ensure documentation and quality.
  • Build rapport with donors to ensure customer satisfaction and promote long-term donations.
  • Report any unsafe situations or conditions to the area lead/supervisor/manager.
  • May be trained to repair plasma center equipment.
  • Assist the Center Manager/Assistant Manager in tasks necessary to pursue company objectives.

Qualifications

  • Required: High school diploma or GED; Certification as Phlebotomist, Donor Processor, Plasma Processor, and Designated Trainer.
  • Typically requires 4 years of related experience in phlebotomy, donor processing, and plasma processing with demonstrated proficiency in handling difficult situations.

Additional Requirements

  • Occupational Demands: Work is performed in a plasma center with exposure to biological fluids and potential exposure to infectious organisms; PPE required; standing 4–6 hours per day and sitting 1–2 hours per day; bending and twisting of neck; frequent hand and finger movements; ability to lift up to 50 lbs; hearing and vision requirements; ability to communicate effectively; works independently and with guidance; tasks vary with changing conditions.
