Role Summary
Phlebotomist role in a plasma center in Greenville, SC, USA. You will assist in determining donor suitability, maintain donor comfort and confidentiality, respond to donor reactions, and monitor donors and equipment to ensure donor health and product quality. You will set up, disconnect, and operate automated plasmapheresis machines and manage disposal of contaminated equipment as part of the donation process.
Responsibilities
- Assist in determining the suitability of donors.
- Establish rapport with donors to ensure overall customer happiness while ensuring donor confidentiality.
- Respond to and assist with handling donor reactions.
- Monitor donors and equipment to ensure donor health and product quality.
- Set up, disconnect, and operate the automated plasmapheresis machines.
- Disconnect and dispose of all contaminated disposable equipment.

Additional Requirements
- Work is performed in a plasma center with exposure to biological fluids and potential exposure to infectious organisms; required personal protective equipment includes protective eyewear, garments, gloves and cold-gear.
- Exposure to electrical office and laboratory equipment.
- Physical demands include standing 6–8 hours per day, bending and twisting for 1–2 hours per day, frequent hand/finger movements, and walking up to 6–8 hours per day; light lifting up to 50 lbs (maximum).
- Hearing and vision requirements; color perception; ability to follow written or spoken instructions and to communicate with diverse groups.
