Responsibilities
- Identify, establish, and manage collaborations with national/regional clinical practice scientific leaders and investigators.
- Conduct peer-level scientific discussions; provide R&D/Medical Affairs contact coverage.
- Lead proactive non-product scientific discussions (disease state, diagnosis, epidemiology, unmet need, population health) to inform R&D/GMA and Human Health strategy.
- Facilitate scientific information exchange with stakeholders and translate insights into actionable R&D/HH strategy.
- Share external stakeholder feedback on new data, clinical trends, and HIV landscape with Medical Affairs HQ.
- Represent R&D at scientific meetings; contribute to debriefs, insight discussions, and post-congress reports.
- Develop and execute territory plans aligned with global Virology strategy.
- Support data generation/Investigator Study Program liaison for investigator-initiated research.
- Identify investigators for phase II-IV programs; provide scientific support for sponsored trials.
- Provide in-depth scientific support to Health Systems Teams.
- Maintain deep therapeutic-area knowledge via conferences, workshops, and journal review.
- Comply with company policies and applicable laws/regulations/ethical standards.
Qualifications
Required
- Advanced degree (MD, PhD, DNP, Doctoral PA-C, DO, or PharmD) in Virology/HIV or related field.
- 3+ years biotech/pharmaceutical or clinical experience.
- 3+ years clinical and/or research experience in Virology/HIV (or related therapeutic areas) beyond terminal degree; demonstrated scientific excellence.
- Excellent communication, networking, and presentation skills.
- Ability to travel up to 50% and reside in coverage region.
Preferred
- Demonstrated HIV scientific excellence (clinical/academic/translational/basic research).
- Clinical HIV experience plus independent HIV research/publications (including late-stage outcomes research or investigator-initiated/sponsored trials).
- 5+ years pharmaceutical industry experience (MSL or similar clinical/medical/research role) in Virology/HIV.
- Established regional stakeholder relationships.
- Leadership experience; ability to handle challenges within scope.
- Strong Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
