Responsibilities:
- Identify, establish, and manage collaborative relationships with scientific leaders and investigators to address scientific needs and ensure access to medical/scientific information related to therapeutic interest and company data/products.
- Conduct peer-level scientific discussions and maintain a reliable presence so scientific leaders have an R&D/Medical Affairs contact.
- Lead proactive non-product discussions on scientific issues (e.g., disease states, diagnosis, epidemiology, unmet need, population health) to inform R&D/GMA and Human Health strategy.
- Facilitate scientific information exchange, integrating knowledge with actionable insights for R&D and Human Health strategies.
- Communicate external stakeholder insights and feedback on new data and clinical trends to Medical Affairs HQ to inform internal R&D strategy.
- Represent R&D at scientific meetings; contribute to debriefs, insight discussions, and post-congress reports.
- Develop and execute territory plans aligned with global Virology strategy.
- Support data generation (e.g., MISP) as the primary liaison for investigator-initiated research.
- Identify investigators for phase II–IV programs; provide scientific support for sponsored trials.
- Provide in-depth scientific support to Health Systems Teams within USMA.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge via conferences, workshops, and review of key journals.
- Comply with company policies, laws, regulations, and ethical standards.

Qualifications:
Required
- Advanced degree (MD, PhD, DNP, Doctoral PA-C, DO, or PharmD) relevant to Virology/HIV.
- 3+ years prior experience in biotech/pharmaceutical or clinical environment.
- 3+ years clinical and/or research experience in Virology/HIV (or related areas) with demonstrated excellence.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, networking, and presentation skills.
- Ability to travel up to 50% overnight and reside in the coverage region.

Preferred
- Sustained HIV scientific excellence (clinical/academic/translational/basic research).
- Experience in both clinical HIV and ownership of independent HIV research/publications (including late-stage outcomes research or trials).
- 5+ years pharmaceutical industry experience (MSL or clinical/medical/research role) in Virology/HIV.
- Prior experience in the coverage region and established stakeholder relationships.
- Demonstrated leadership and ability to address challenges within authority.
- Strong Microsoft Office Suite knowledge (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
