Responsibilities:
- Identify, establish, and manage relationships with community-based scientific leaders and healthcare providers within Medical Affairs.
- Conduct peer-level scientific discussions and maintain reliable Medical Affairs contact coverage.
- Lead proactive non-product discussions on scientific issues to understand prevention gaps, disparities, and barriers to uptake across care settings.
- Exchange scientific information and translate knowledge into actionable insights for R&D research, development, and strategies.
- Share external stakeholder insights and feedback on new data, clinical trends, and the evolving HIV treatment/prevention landscape with Medical Affairs HQ.
- Represent R&D at scientific meetings/congresses; contribute to debriefs, insight discussions, and post-congress reporting.
- Develop and execute territory plans aligned with global Virology strategy.
- Support requested data generation activities (e.g., Investigator Study Program/MISP).
- Identify potential investigators for Phase II–IV programs and provide scientific support for R&D-sponsored trials.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of the disease/therapeutic area through educational efforts.
- Comply with company policies and applicable laws/regulations/ethical standards.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Doctorate (PhD, PharmD, NP/PA, etc.) relevant to Virology.
- 3+ years biotech/pharma or healthcare experience.
- 3+ years clinical and/or research experience in Virology/HIV or related area.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, networking, and presentation skills.
- Travel up to 50% and reside in the coverage region.
- Strong therapeutic competency and ability to interpret complex data.
- Knowledge of treatment guidelines, clinical research processes, FDA regulations, and OIG/HIPAA and other ethical/legal requirements.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and work in a changing environment.
Preferred:
- Experience with community-based/non-medical priority populations and unmet needs/barriers.
- Established relationships with HIV community stakeholders in the coverage region, especially in prevention.
- Leadership experience.
- Microsoft Office Suite skills.
