Virology (HIV) Community MSL / Regional Medical Scientific Associate Director - West Region

Responsibilities:
- Work within Medical Affairs to identify, establish, and manage relationships with community-based scientific leaders (SLs) and healthcare providers.
- Conduct peer-level scientific discussions and maintain a reliable presence as a Medical Affairs contact for SLs.
- Lead proactive non-product discussions on scientific issues to understand real-world HIV prevention gaps, disparities, and barriers to uptake.
- Facilitate appropriate scientific exchange of information with SLs, integrating scientific knowledge into actionable insights for research, development, and strategies.
- Provide Medical Affairs HQ teams with external stakeholder opinions, insights, and feedback on new data and clinical trends.
- Represent R&D at scientific meetings to capture stakeholder sentiment and contribute to debriefs and post-congress reports.
- Develop and execute territory plans aligned with global Virology strategy.
- Support data generation activities (e.g., Investigator Study Program/MISP) when requested.
- Identify potential investigators for phase IIβIV programs and provide scientific support for R&D-sponsored trials.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of the assigned disease/therapeutic area through educational efforts.
- Comply with company policies and applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Doctorate (PhD/PharmD/NP/PA, etc.) relevant to Virology.
- 3+ years biotech/pharmaceutical or healthcare experience.
- 3+ years clinical and/or research experience in Virology/HIV.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, networking, and presentation skills.
- Ability to travel up to 50% overnight and reside in the coverage region.
- Deep therapeutic competency and ability to interpret complex data.
- Knowledge of treatment guidelines, clinical research processes, FDA regulations, and OIG/HIPAA/ethical guidelines.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and work in a changing environment.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of unmet needs/implementation barriers for priority populations in community-based and non-medical spaces.
- Prior coverage-region experience and established HIV prevention stakeholder relationships.
- Demonstrable leadership skills.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills.
