Responsibilities:
- Identify, establish, and manage collaborative relationships with community-based scientific leaders and healthcare providers.
- Conduct peer-level scientific discussions and maintain a reliable Medical Affairs presence for stakeholder contact.
- Engage in proactive non-product scientific discussions to understand prevention gaps, disparities, and barriers to uptake.
- Facilitate scientific exchange and integrate insights to inform R&D research, development, and strategies.
- Communicate stakeholder opinions/feedback on new data and evolving HIV treatment and prevention landscape to Medical Affairs HQ teams.
- Represent R&D at scientific meetings/congresses; contribute to debriefs, insight discussions, and post-congress reports.
- Develop and execute territory plans aligned with global Virology strategy.
- Support R&D data generation activities (e.g., Investigator Study Program) when requested.
- Identify potential investigators for phase II-IV programs and provide scientific support for R&D-sponsored trials.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of assigned disease/therapeutic area through educational efforts.
- Comply with company policies and applicable laws/regulations/ethical standards.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Doctorate or advanced practice professional degree (PhD, PharmD, NP/PA, etc.) relevant to Virology.
- 3+ years biotech/pharma or healthcare experience.
- 3+ years clinical and/or research experience in Virology/HIV (or related area).
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, networking, and presentation skills.
- Ability to travel up to 50% overnight and reside in the coverage region.
- Deep therapeutic competency; ability to network with external scientific leaders/providers.
- Ability to analyze, summarize/synthesize, and interpret complex data.
- Knowledge of treatment guidelines, clinical research processes, FDA regulations, and OIG/HIPAA/ethical guidelines.
- Ability to organize/prioritize and work effectively in a changing environment.
Preferred:
- Awareness of unmet needs/implementation barriers of priority populations in community-based/non-medical spaces.
- Prior experience in the coverage region and established relationships with HIV community stakeholders (especially prevention).
- Leadership experience; Microsoft Office Suite knowledge.
