Virology (HIV) Community MSL / Regional Medical Scientific Associate Director - New England

Responsibilities:
- Identify, establish, and manage collaborative relationships with community-based scientific leaders (SLs) and healthcare providers.
- Conduct peer-level scientific discussions and maintain a Medical Affairs contact presence for SLs.
- Engage in proactive non-product discussions about scientific issues to understand prevention gaps, disparities, and barriers to uptake.
- Facilitate scientific information exchange with SLs, translating scientific knowledge into actionable insights for research, development, and strategy.
- Share external stakeholder opinions/feedback on new data, clinical trends, and the evolving HIV treatment and prevention landscape with Medical Affairs HQ.
- Represent R&D at scientific meetings and congresses; contribute to debriefs, insight discussions, and post-congress reports.
- Develop and execute territory plans aligned with global Virology strategy.
- Support R&D data generation requests (e.g., Investigator Study Program/MISP).
- Identify investigators for Phase IIβIV programs and provide scientific support for R&D-sponsored trials as needed.
- Demonstrate and maintain in-depth knowledge of the assigned disease/therapeutic area.
- Comply with company policies and applicable laws/regulations/ethical standards.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Doctorate or advanced practice degree (PhD, PharmD, NP/PA, etc.) relevant to Virology.
- 3+ years biotech/pharma or healthcare experience.
- 3+ years clinical and/or research experience in Virology/HIV.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, networking, and presentation skills.
- Travel up to 50% and reside in the coverage region.
- Deep therapeutic competency in Virology.
- Ability to network with external scientific leaders/healthcare providers.
- Ability to synthesize complex data and objectively interpret results.
- Knowledge of treatment guidelines, clinical research processes, FDA regulations, and relevant ethical/legal standards (e.g., OIG, HIPAA).
- Ability to organize/prioritize and work in a changing environment.
Preferred:
- Experience with unmet needs/implementation barriers in community-based and non-medical spaces.
- Experience in the coverage region and relationships with HIV community stakeholders (especially prevention).
- Leadership experience; Microsoft Office Suite knowledge.
