Virology (HIV) Community MSL / Regional Medical Scientific Director (Remote; based in Texas covering AR, LA, MS, NM, OK, TX)
Responsibilities:
- Build and manage relationships with community scientific leaders (SLs) and healthcare providers.
- Conduct peer-level discussions and provide Medical Affairs contact to SLs.
- Engage in non-product discussions to understand prevention gaps, disparities, and barriers to uptake.
- Facilitate scientific exchange to translate knowledge into actionable insights for R&D strategy.
- Share external stakeholder feedback on new data and evolving HIV treatment/prevention trends with Medical Affairs HQ.
- Represent R&D at scientific meetings; contribute to debriefs and post-congress reporting.
- Develop and execute territory plans aligned with global Virology strategy.
- Support R&D data generation (e.g., Investigator Study Program/MISP) and identify potential investigators for Phase IIβIV programs; provide trial scientific support.
- Maintain in-depth therapeutic-area knowledge and ensure compliance with policies, laws, and ethical standards.
Qualifications:
Required
- Doctorate (PhD/PharmD/NP/PA, etc.) relevant to Virology.
- 3+ years biotech/pharma or healthcare experience.
- 3+ years clinical and/or research experience in Virology/HIV or related area.
- Strong communication, networking, presentation skills.
- Ability to travel (up to ~50%) and reside in coverage region.
- Competence consolidating complex data; analysis, synthesis, and objective interpretation.
- Knowledge of treatment guidelines, clinical research, FDA, and regulations (incl. HIPAA/OIG) for pharma industry.
- Ability to organize/prioritize in a changing environment.
Preferred
- Experience with unmet needs and barriers in community/non-medical spaces.
- Prior coverage-region experience and HIV prevention stakeholder relationships.
- Demonstrable leadership; Microsoft Office (Word/PowerPoint/Excel).
