Virology (HIV) Community MSL / Regional Medical Scientific Associate Director - Mid South

Responsibilities
- Identify, establish, and manage relationships with community-based scientific leaders (SLs) and healthcare providers.
- Conduct peer-level scientific discussions; maintain reliable Medical Affairs contact with SLs.
- Lead proactive, non-product scientific discussions on prevention gaps, disparities, and barriers to uptake.
- Facilitate scientific exchange to translate knowledge into actionable insights for R&D strategy.
- Share external stakeholder insights/feedback on new data and evolving HIV treatment and prevention.
- Represent R&D at scientific meetings and congresses; contribute to debriefs and reports.
- Develop and execute territory plans aligned with global Virology strategy.
- Support requested data generation activities (including Investigator Study Program/MISP).
- Identify investigators for phase IIβIV development programs; provide scientific support for sponsored trials.
- Maintain in-depth therapeutic area knowledge through educational efforts.
- Comply with policies, laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
Qualifications
Required
- PhD/doctorate or advanced practice professional (e.g., PharmD, NP/PA) relevant to Virology.
- 3+ years biotech/pharma/healthcare experience.
- 3+ years clinical and/or research experience in Virology/HIV.
- Strong communication, networking, and presentation skills.
- Travel up to 50%; reside in coverage region (AR, LA, MS, NM, OK, TX).
- Ability to analyze and synthesize complex data.
- Knowledge of treatment guidelines, FDA regulations, and ethical requirements (e.g., OIG, HIPAA).
- Ability to organize/prioritize in a changing environment.
Preferred
- Experience with unmet needs and implementation barriers in community/non-medical settings.
- Prior regional experience and relationships with HIV community stakeholders (HIV prevention).
- Leadership experience; Microsoft Office (Word/PowerPoint/Excel).
