Virology (HIV) Community MSL / Regional Medical Scientific Associate Director - Mid Atlantic

Responsibilities:
- Identify, establish, and manage collaborative relationships with community scientific leaders and healthcare providers.
- Conduct peer-level scientific discussions; maintain Medical Affairs contact for scientific leaders.
- Lead proactive non-product discussions to understand HIV prevention gaps, disparities, and barriers to uptake.
- Facilitate scientific exchange to translate knowledge into actionable insights for research and strategy.
- Share external stakeholder feedback on new data and clinical trends to Medical Affairs HQ.
- Represent R&D at scientific meetings/congresses; contribute to debriefs and post-congress reporting.
- Develop and execute territory plans aligned with global Virology strategy.
- Support data generation requests (including Investigator Study Program/MISP).
- Identify investigators and provide scientific support for phase IIβIV and R&D-sponsored trials.
- Maintain in-depth therapeutic-area knowledge; ensure compliance with policies, laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Doctorate (PhD, PharmD, NP/PA, etc.) relevant to Virology.
- 3+ years biotech/pharma or healthcare experience.
- 3+ years clinical and/or research experience in Virology/HIV.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, networking, and presentation skills.
- Travel up to 50% and reside in coverage region.
- Deep Virology competency; ability to network/partner with scientific leaders.
- Ability to analyze/synthesize complex data and interpret results objectively.
- Knowledge of treatment guidelines, clinical research processes, FDA regulations, and ethics (OIG, HIPAA).
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and work in a changing environment.
Preferred:
- Experience with unmet needs/barriers in community/non-medical spaces.
- Prior relationships in the coverage region (HIV prevention).
- Leadership experience; strong Microsoft Office (Word/PowerPoint/Excel).
