Medical Affairs
Responsibilities:
- Lead the Medical Affairs function at Alumis (Medical Affairs, Field Medical Liaisons, publications)
- Develop and implement Medical Affairs strategies and activities to support development of lead assets
- Build and scale the Medical Affairs organization
- Develop and present Medical Affairs operational plans to Development and Executive management
- Represent the company externally
- Direct and oversee all aspects of Medical Affairs and pre-launch needs
- Lead medical launch preparations for the lead psoriasis candidate, ensuring a robust, well-vetted scientific narrative
- Build and lead a best-in-class global Medical Affairs team for launches across multiple indications (focus on psoriasis for envudeucitinib)
- Develop KPIs and generate analytical reports for Medical Affairs and MSL activities
- Develop and implement Medical Communication and Disease State Awareness strategies
- Partner with KOLs to gather therapeutic area information and questions
- Collaborate with Commercial to develop balanced, medically accurate educational materials for providers and patients
- Provide input into reimbursement and market-access strategy
- Collaborate with clinical development and commercial leadership to set strategic direction and operating plans
- Foster relationships with academic/clinical experts, publishers, and medical/patient associations
- Develop and manage departmental budgets
- Oversee publication strategy; present data at major congresses and in high-impact peer-reviewed journals

Qualifications/Skills:
- 10+ years in Biotech/Pharma Medical Affairs
- 5+ years people leadership experience
- Understanding of government/industry guidelines and regulations for scientific/medical exchange
- Proven leadership and ability to build talent and collaborative partnerships
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple complex projects in a compliance-driven environment
- Ability to develop internal/external relationships (KOLs and industry experts)
- Effective communication across all levels
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
- Travel 25–40% may be required; regular presence at San Francisco Bay Area HQ required

Required/Preferred Experience:
- Extensive prior dermatology experience, particularly psoriasis (required)
- Prior SLE experience (highly desirable)
- Prior experience taking a product from Phase 3 to successful launch (highly desirable)

Education:
- Advanced degree (PharmD, Ph.D., or MD) required; MD preferred
