Role Summary

Vice President, Marketing and Ecosystem Platforms and Engineering leads Pfizer's Digital and Technology platforms, defining strategic direction, technical vision, and operational excellence for platforms powering Marketing and supporting Medical, Legal, and Regulatory teams globally. This role integrates advanced engineering practices across disciplines, drives enterprise-wide transformation, and advises senior Digital and Commercial leadership to shape Pfizerβ€šΓ„Γ΄s digital ecosystem.

Responsibilities

  • Define and evolve the enterprise platform strategy in alignment with long-term business priorities and digital transformation.
  • Embed continuous improvement and innovation into daily operations across C4.
  • Lead design of solutions for complex, multi-faceted problems with long-term enterprise impact.
  • Address AI governance, platform sustainability, and developer experience to ensure resilience and adaptability.
  • Oversee architecture, design, and delivery of global commercial platforms including Adobe, Web/Mobile Platform ecosystem, Python/AWS automation, Salesforce Marketing CRM, CDP, and Identity Platforms.
  • Make enterprise-level decisions on platform selection, vendor partnerships, designs, and roadmaps.
  • Champion privacy-first and security-first engineering practices; lead FinOps for cloud spend optimization.
  • Manage large-scale delivery programs, platform operations, and vendor partnerships with measurable outcomes.
  • Ensure delivery of high-quality platforms from inception to global deployment.
  • Lead responses to security incidents and outages; drive post-mortems and remediation; enforce privacy and security by design.
  • Represent C4 in governance forums and cross-functional committees; influence senior leadership.
  • Define resourcing strategy for the Platform Engineering team; foster agility, inclusion, and excellence.
  • Develop talent pipelines and act on Developer Experience feedback to improve delivery and work life.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Information Management, Computer Science, Engineering or Technology Management (preferred) with relevant technical experience.
  • Minimum 15 years in information technology with increasing responsibility designing, delivering, and maintaining large-scale global systems in platform engineering, architecture, or emerging tech.
  • Strong communication, strategic thinking, and decision-making; ability to influence senior audiences.
  • Experience leading enterprise strategy and large-scale transformation in regulated environments; global 24x7 enterprise software implementations.
  • Proficiency in pharma industry knowledge, external market awareness, and business requirements forecasting.
  • Proven leadership of large global teams; experience managing matrix-driven, geographically distributed resources; financial acumen; vendor negotiation experience.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Enterprise Platforms, Salesforce Marketing Cloud/Data Cloud/Life Sciences Cloud, Generative/Agentic AI, Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services, AWS, modern web frameworks, and JavaScript patterns.

Additional Requirements

  • Travel will be required as part of this role; ability to travel within region, to other regions, and to Pfizer World Headquarters in NY. This role may require weekend/holiday/after-hours participation as part of a 7x24x365 environment.
