Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership on front-end loading for mega projects capital investment initiatives: agree on project definitions, scope, priorities; ensure resources/capabilities/processes are in place; present to senior management; assemble/coordinate teams and manage resource allocation.
- In collaboration with Engineering & Design, lead architecture and design for major capital programs; ensure adoption of standard design platforms and compliance with latest regulatory standards.
- Provide leadership and support to project teams to keep programs on plan by resolving resource conflicts and removing obstacles (including senior-level negotiation).
- Collaborate with Global Project Controls to track deliverables; monitor and report progress, risks, and mitigations; implement/manage project changes and interventions.
- Manage overall mega projects portfolio budget; conduct project evaluations; ensure risk management analysis and plans for all mega projects and technology implementations.
- Through the PM Center of Excellence, ensure engineering performance metrics and continuous improvement using best practices (design, construction, safety, C&Q); enable cross-functional collaboration with internal/external partners.
- Ensure adoption of contracting strategies for delivery (vendor qualification, global agreements, performance surveillance for design/construction/safety/C&Q).
- Ensure efficient work practices for core group processes and continuous improvement via lessons learned.
- Develop yearly business plans and personal objectives aligned to company goals.
- Advise and align short- and long-term tactical engineering plans and programs with strategic departmental plans (design/construction/alteration).
- Comply with training requirements and meet mobility demands.
- Travel 25–50% typical (may increase during peak project periods).
- Establish plans for talent development, diversification, and professional development for the group.

Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required (preference in Engineering, Architecture & Design, or Construction Management).
- Experience: 15+ years in business and Project Management, including design, construction management, commissioning and qualification.
- Prior experience managing mega capital projects (>$500MM) required.
- Prior supervisor experience with direct reports required.
- Experience in Design and Construction Management highly recommended.
- LEED AP preferred.
- PMP or comparable certification and familiarity with J&J project management approaches (FPX & IDEA Process) preferred.
- Strong knowledge of cGMPs and regulatory requirements (for facility design and start-up) preferred.
- Professional Engineering License preferred; experience working in Americas and EMEA desired.

Key Required Competencies
- Proven global track record delivering mega projects (supply chain facilities), preferably Innovative Medicines Bio-Therapeutics, Synthetics, and ATMP; significant experience leading project management professionals in indirect/dotted-line environments; strong project/construction risk control.
- Strong communicator/influencer; credible negotiator with business leaders; ability to explain complex technical requirements clearly.
- Business acumen across organizational leadership levels; ability to develop creative, risk-balancing solutions.
- Ability to manage multiple demands and collaborate in matrix/team environments.
- Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural partnering skills.
- Strong written and oral English communication.
- Excellent project management skills: lead teams; maintain schedules and budgets; create dashboards and track metrics; produce clear written reports (findings/recommendations/progress).
- Experience building competency/awareness through training, public speaking, and presentations.

Language Requirements
- Strong oral and written communication in English.

Travel Requirements
- Up to 50%.
