Key Responsibilities:
- Create deep functional bench strength by identifying, attracting, and developing a best-in-class Clinical Development & Medical Affairs team; provide coaching and training; foster an inclusive, high-performance environment.
- Drive therapeutic area growth by aligning regional and global resources with key priorities and relevant global franchises.
- Develop cross-functional medical strategy aligned with and supportive of commercial strategy; partner with Commercial for strategic medical insights to shape portfolio strategy.
- Own key interfaces with relevant global franchise teams: support therapeutic areasβ business plans; align patient-centric product/services strategies; facilitate best-practice sharing and two-way feedback; provide regional input into pre-launch/launch; inform US initiatives/outcomes; contribute to resource and talent allocation.
- Partner with Global Development to set strategic direction for Clinical Development & Medical Affairs across development and lifecycle management; provide US perspective on global clinical development plans.
Essential Requirements:
- Bachelorβs or equivalent; doctorate level degree (MD, PharmD, or PhD in Biological Sciences or related field).
- 12+ years progressively senior experience in clinical development or medical affairs (pharma/biotech or academic/clinical practice).
- 5+ years people management and team leadership experience (strong track record preferred).
- 3+ years in immunology/respiratory area in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Deep knowledge of US healthcare landscape (payor dynamics, access pathways, healthcare trends), good promotional practices (PhRMA/OIG/ABPI), and independent medical education (ACCME).
- Strong clinical research experience (protocol development, trial operations, patient recruitment strategy).
- Expertise in health economics, outcomes research, and real-world evidence for access/reimbursement/value.
- Enterprise-level influence across US and Global organizations.
Desirable Requirements:
- Medical Degree with Board Certification.
- Experience presenting at major international medical congresses.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Expected salary range: $318,500β$591,500/year; performance-based cash incentive; eligibility for annual equity awards (role dependent).
