Main Responsibilities
Medical Strategy & Leadership
- Develop U.S. medical objectives and strategies across the rare hematology portfolio, aligned with U.S. commercial goals
- Provide medical input to brand teams regarding strategy, tactics, and development of claims
- Serve as internal expert for rare hematologic conditions/products and support field U.S. Medical Affairs
- Develop strategies for and implement medical advisory boards
- Lead execution of the strategic U.S. investigator-sponsored study program
- Develop U.S. scientific communication and publication strategies
- Partner with R&D to support clinical trials across the rare hematology portfolio
- Lead medical affairs activities supporting the near-term launch of rilzabrutinib for ITP
- Present to cross-functional leadership/governance forums to advance therapeutic area strategy
- Drive preparation for lifecycle management and upcoming product launches with medical readiness
Field Medical & MSL Direction
- Provide strategic direction to disease-specific MSL teams
- Support product and disease-state training for internal colleagues
Payer & Access Support
- Support Managed Markets discussions with payers on rare hematology therapies
- Review Educational Outreach Grants for alignment with strategic goals
Compliance & Ethics
- Ensure ethical and credible promotion; potentially sit on Promotional and Medical Review boards
- Ensure compliance with corporate and industry policies and legal/regulatory requirements
Scientific Excellence
- Maintain medical/scientific knowledge via continuing education and literature review
- Monitor emerging scientific/technological/regulatory developments
Travel
- Approximately 20% travel expected

Qualifications
Basic
- Doctorate degree (PhD or PharmD); will consider MD with relevant experience
- At least 10 years of Medical Affairs experience with strategic and tactical planning/execution
- Experience in rare hematology or related therapeutic area (ITP, wAIHA, SCD, or adjacent rare blood disorders)
Preferred
- Strategic thinker/planner
- Superb oral/written communication and presentation skills
- Strong interpersonal skills; relationship building and conflict resolution
- Organized; effective in highly matrixed, cross-functional environment
- Experience developing, conducting, and publishing peer-reviewed scientific/clinical research
- Additional training/experience in epidemiology, health economics, health policy, and outcomes research
- Commitment to ethical/legal/regulatory/scientific standards
