Medical Affairs
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and focus to the US Medical Affairs Rare Blood Disorders (RBD) team to deliver US RBD Medical Affairs priorities; foster teamwork, engagement, and performance through attracting, developing, and retaining talent.
- Lead the US Medical RBD stakeholder engagement strategy.
- Represent US RBD Medical Affairs/Sanofi Specialty Care to external audiences (HCPs, thought leaders, medical associations, and key organizations).
- Develop and maintain key opinion leader (KOL) relationships.
- Oversee insights gathering from healthcare stakeholders (e.g., KOLs, payers, competent authorities).
- Lead local data generation in support of market access and/or Product Life Cycle (PLC) management.
- Collaborate with health economics and Medical Managed Care teams.
- Ensure appropriate data dissemination strategy for the US immunology product portfolio.
- Oversee training and education events for internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with FDA, OIG, HIPAA, and other relevant ethical/industry guidelines.
- Ensure review and approval of medical/scientific content across Regulatory, Safety, Scientific Affairs, Medical Affairs, and Commercial outputs.
- Lead, plan, and provide medical expertise for all US RBD Medical programs.
- Assess risks, identify gaps/issues, and provide guidance and solutions.
- Implement measurable customer/product medical education policies.
- Oversee management of the franchise medical budget and influence partners/programs.
- Collaborate with other therapeutic areas as appropriate.
Qualifications:
Basic:
- Advanced degree (MD, PhD, PharmD).
- 15+ years Medical Affairs experience; 7+ years leading a medical function.
- 10+ years leading high-performing teams with talent development.
- Highest-level ethics; knowledge to comply with ethical/regulatory/legal standards.
- Strong track record developing/executing medical strategies in key markets.
- Proven KOL network building/maintenance.
- Experience partnering across departments globally; able to work in a matrix environment.
- Extensive experience with safety issues.
Preferred:
- Hematology training certification.
- Medical Affairs experience in Rare Hematology.
- Entrepreneurial vision; strong execution.
- Interpersonal communication, negotiation, and networking.
- Critical thinking/problem-solving.
- Planning, project, time, budget, and resource/portfolio allocation.
- Fluent English; superb written and verbal communication skills.
