Main Responsibilities
- Develop U.S. medical objectives and strategies for Advanced Systemic Mastocytosis (aSM), aligned with U.S. commercial goals
- Provide medical input to brand teams on strategy, tactics, and development of claims for aSM therapies
- Serve as internal expert for aSM and related products; support field-based U.S. Medical Affairs
- Develop and implement medical advisory board strategies focused on aSM
- Support execution of the strategic U.S. investigator-sponsored study program in SM
- Develop U.S. scientific communication and publication strategies for Advanced Systemic Mastocytosis
- Partner with R&D to support clinical trials in aSM
Field Medical & MSL Direction
- Provide strategic direction to disease-specific MSL teams for translating medical strategy into tactics
- Lead product and disease-state training for internal colleagues on Advanced Systemic Mastocytosis
Payer & Access Support
- Support Managed Markets discussions with payers regarding aSM therapies
- Review Educational Outreach Grants for alignment with aSM strategic goals
Compliance & Ethics (role-focused)
- Ensure ethical and credible promotion; participate on Promotional and Medical Review boards
- Ensure compliance with corporate/industry policies and legal/regulatory requirements for Medical Affairs activities
Scientific Excellence
- Maintain medical/scientific knowledge via continuing education and keeping abreast of current literature
- Stay updated on emerging scientific, technological, and regulatory developments in aSM
Travel
- Approximately 20%
Qualifications
Basic
- Doctorate degree (M.D., PhD, or PharmD)
- Strong Medical Affairs experience in strategic and tactical planning/execution
- Experience in rare hematology, oncology, or related area (Systemic Mastocytosis preferred)
Preferred
- Strategic thinker/planner in rare disease environments
- Superb oral/written communication and presentation skills
- Strong interpersonal skills; relationship building; conflict management
- Organized; effective in highly matrixed, cross-functional environment
- Experience developing/conducting/publishing peer-reviewed scientific/clinical research (rare hematology)
- Training/experience in epidemiology, health economics, health policy, or outcomes-based research/practice
