Position Summary:
The Thought Leader Liaison (TLL) is a field-based role responsible for developing and managing strategic partnerships with national and regional US key opinion leaders (KOLs) within rare nephrology. Reports to the Director, Thought Leader Liaisons. Supports growth of FILSPARI (sparsentan) for IgAN and FSGS, collaborating with Marketing, Insights and Analytics, Sales management, Patient Advocacy, Compliance, Sales Training, Market Access, and Medical Affairs.
Responsibilities:
- Leverage insights to implement regional cross-functional account strategy and KOL engagement plans with the brand team and field partners.
- Coordinate with marketing to identify KOL partnering opportunities and support KOL recruitment for initiatives.
- Collect, analyze, and synthesize KOL sentiments, competitor activities, and market trends; provide regular updates and strategic recommendations.
- Ensure compliant, fair-balanced, effective message delivery across promotional educational channels.
- Enlist appropriate KOLs to support commercial activities with the FILSPARI brand team.
- Identify and vet qualified promotional speakers.
- Support contracting, training, and ongoing educational efforts for promotional speakers.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelorβs in Business or Life Sciences (advanced degree preferred).
- Minimum 8 years of marketing experience in specialty or rare disease marketing.
Skills/Requirements:
- Strong nephrology/clinical scientific acumen (preferably rare kidney diseases).
- Proven leadership and high performance.
- Ability to build/sustain internal and KOL business relationships and execute engagement plans.
- Experience in similar pharmaceutical marketing role (preferably small molecule).
- Strong collaboration, attention to detail, multitasking, communication (verbal/written), and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage complex project plans, timelines, budgets, and critical paths; adapt to changing strategies.
- Field-based; must live in region.
- Travel 50β60% domestically; at least 3 days/week in the field with some weekend work.
- Not 100% remote; requires face-to-face work (San Diego onsite as needed).
