Role Summary

Therapeutic Specialist, HIV Prevention β€” Jackson - Mobile territory. Representing Gilead's products and services to a defined customer base, generating and growing sales, and achieving sales targets within the assigned geographic area. Build strong relationships with healthcare practices, provide disease awareness information and clinical updates, and translate complex concepts for diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for achieving coverage and frequency targets and consistently achieving sales targets in assigned territory.
  • Contributes to regional training, developing the key skills of other team members.
  • With guidance, initiates systems to monitor sales progress and action plans; regularly measures success and provides feedback on performance.
  • May collaborate with outside partner companies to co-promote products or services.
  • Manages territory budgets for customer contacts, speaker events and other external expenditures.
  • May represent the company at professional events and promote company products.
  • Works cooperatively with Medical Science Liaisons, National Account Managers, Marketing and other internal teams on cross-functional projects.
  • Identifies and resolves issues and opportunities; communicates proactively to marketing and sales management.
  • Completes administrative tasks in a timely manner (e.g., updating customer database, expenses).
  • Collaborates across the commercial team to ensure efficient project execution.
  • Maintains compliance with all regulatory and legal requirements related to product promotion and information dissemination.
  • Represents Gilead’s products and services to healthcare professionals; promotes appropriate product use with therapeutic knowledge.
  • Prepares business plans for the territory, assigns targets, and communicates required actions to achieve goals.
  • Maintains competency levels required for the role.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of sales experience in pharmaceutical/healthcare; OR
  • Master's degree and 2+ years of sales experience in pharmaceutical/healthcare; OR
  • PhD and 0+ years of sales experience in pharmaceutical/healthcare.
  • Prior experience in the therapeutic area is highly desired; country-specific pharmaceutical sales certifications are essential.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal, relationship-building, influencing, and negotiating skills.
  • Working knowledge of relevant therapeutic/disease/product area; awareness of industry trends and competitors.
  • Ability to identify issues/opportunities and present recommendations to management/marketing.
  • Solid analytical skills; ability to understand moderately complex issues and provide guidance.
  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams; self-motivated with autonomy.
