Position: Therapeutic Account Manager (TAM)
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a territory business plan; use performance data, customer insights, market intelligence, access dynamics, and competitive trends to identify opportunities and adjust strategy.
- Deliver objectives through disciplined prioritization, customer engagement, resource stewardship, and accountability.
- Maintain accurate customer records, forecasts, expenses, and required administrative documentation.
- Identify and develop high-opportunity accounts, health systems/centers of excellence, and pediatric/adult hepatology & gastroenterology referral networks.
- Create and execute customized account plans across patient journey, stakeholders, clinical decision-making, referrals, access, customer needs, and competition.
- Build trusted relationships with physicians and care teams; map influence in complex accounts and secure next steps.
- Develop deep knowledge of rare cholestatic liver disease; communicate complex clinical/scientific information clearly and credibly.
- Engage HCPs as a clinically credible peer; ask insightful questions and address unmet needs.
- Execute approved promotional programs in full compliance with policies/regulations.
- Keep patients/caregivers central; collaborate with Market Access and Patient Services; elevate access/patient-support barriers and partner to improve support.
- Partner cross-functionally (Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient Services, Marketing, Analytics, etc.) and share actionable field insights.
Qualifications
- Bachelorโs required; advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years progressive pharma/biotech sales; success in complex specialty/rare disease/orphan/high-science markets.
- Rare disease experience highly preferred; hepatology/gastroenterology/pediatric specialty desirable.
- Strong clinical aptitude and ability to learn/communicate complex medical/product information.
- Account-based selling experience across health systems, centers of excellence, multidisciplinary teams, referral networks.
- Insight-led/challenger-style selling ability.
- Knowledge of access/reimbursement and patient support pathways.
- Strong business acumen, interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, and ability to operate independently.
- Valid driverโs license; travel up to 70% (frequent overnight; occasional weekends).
