Therapeutic Account Manager (TAM) โ Job Functions/Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a territory business plan aligned to national/zone/regional priorities; use performance data, customer insights, market intelligence, access dynamics, and competitive trends to adjust strategy.
- Deliver business objectives through disciplined prioritization, high-quality engagement, effective resource stewardship; maintain accurate records, forecasts, expense reporting, and required documentation.
- Identify, prioritize, and develop high-opportunity accounts (health systems, centers of excellence) and referral networks across pediatric/adult hepatology and gastroenterology.
- Create customized account plans to advance disease awareness, patient identification, treatment consideration/initiation/persistence per approved indications and promotional practices.
- Build trusted relationships across the care team; map influence/decision-making and secure next steps.
- Develop deep knowledge of rare cholestatic liver disease and Mirumโs Liver portfolio; communicate complex clinical/scientific information credibly.
- Engage HCPs as a clinically credible peer; ask thoughtful questions, uncover unmet needs, and execute approved promotional programs per policies/regulations.
- Keep patients/caregivers central; collaborate compliantly with Market Access and Patient Services; identify/elevate access and patient-support barriers.
- Partner cross-functionally (Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient Services, Marketing, training/effectiveness, Operations, Analytics, Advocacy) and share actionable field insights.
Qualifications
- Bachelorโs required; advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years progressive pharmaceutical/biotech sales.
- Track record in complex specialty/rare disease/orphan/high-science markets; rare disease experience highly preferred.
- Strong clinical aptitude; ability to learn/communicate complex disease/product information.
- Account-based selling experience across health systems, COEs, multidisciplinary teams, referral networks.
- Insight-led/challenger-style selling; knowledge of access/reimbursement and patient support pathways.
- Strong business acumen; exceptional interpersonal/emotional intelligence/communication.
- Ethical, compliant promotional practices; valid driverโs license; travel up to 70%.
