Position Summary
- The Therapeutic Account Manager (TAM) delivers strong, sustainable business performance and meaningful patient impact across an assigned territory by developing deep clinical and account expertise in rare cholestatic liver diseases and Mirum’s Liver portfolio.
Responsibilities
Territory Strategy & Business Performance
- Develop and execute a focused territory business plan aligned with national/zone/regional priorities.
- Use performance data, customer insights, market intelligence, access dynamics, and competitive trends to identify opportunities and adjust strategy.
- Deliver territory objectives through disciplined prioritization, high-quality customer engagement, effective resource stewardship, and accountability for behaviors and results.
- Maintain accurate customer records, forecasts, expense reporting, administrative documentation, and business updates.
Strategic Account Management & Network Development
- Identify, prioritize, and develop high-opportunity accounts, health systems, centers of excellence, and referral networks (pediatric/adult hepatology and gastroenterology).
- Create and execute customized account plans aligned to the local patient journey and stakeholder/referral/access realities.
- Build trusted relationships across the care team and map influence/decision-making to secure next steps.
- Coordinate compliant account actions with field partners.
Clinical Aptitude & Customer Engagement
- Maintain deep knowledge of disease, diagnostics, mechanisms of action, clinical/product data, approved uses, safety, and access/reimbursement.
- Communicate complex clinical information credibly and clearly; engage providers as a clinically credible peer.
- Execute approved promotional programs in full adherence to policies and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years progressive pharmaceutical/biotech sales experience; proven results in complex specialty/rare disease/orphan/high-science markets.
- Rare disease experience highly preferred; hepatology/gastroenterology/pediatric specialty desirable.
- Strong clinical aptitude; ability to learn and communicate complex medical/scientific information.
- Account-based selling experience across health systems/centers of excellence/multidisciplinary teams/referral networks.
- Insight-led/challenger-style selling and strong business acumen (data interpretation, territory/account strategy).
- Working knowledge of access/reimbursement and patient support pathways.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence; strong compliance judgment.
- Valid driver’s license; travel up to 70% (frequent overnight; occasional weekend commitments).
