Position Summary
- Therapeutic Account Manager (TAM) responsible for delivering strong, sustainable business performance and meaningful patient impact across an assigned territory.
- Develops deep clinical and account expertise in rare cholestatic liver diseases and Mirum’s Liver portfolio; identifies and prioritizes high-opportunity customers, accounts, and referral networks; executes customized account plans to advance disease awareness, patient identification, treatment consideration/initiation/persistence.
Territory Strategy & Business Performance
- Develop and execute territory business plan aligned to national/zone/regional priorities; define objectives, customer priorities, resource allocation, and success measures.
- Use performance data, customer insights, market intelligence, access dynamics, and competitive trends to adjust strategy.
- Maintain accurate/timely customer records, forecasts, expense reporting, and required administrative documentation.
Strategic Account Management & Network Development
- Identify/prioritize/develop high-opportunity accounts, health systems, centers of excellence, and referral networks across pediatric and adult hepatology/gastroenterology.
- Build and execute customized account plans reflecting local patient journey, stakeholders, referral patterns, access considerations, and competitive realities.
- Build trusted relationships across care team; map influence in complex accounts and secure next steps.
- Coordinate compliant account actions across field partners.
Clinical Aptitude & Customer Engagement
- Develop and maintain knowledge of rare cholestatic liver disease, diagnostics, mechanisms of action, clinical data, product profiles/approved uses, safety, patient support, access/reimbursement, and competition.
- Communicate complex science clearly and credibly; engage HCPs as a clinically credible peer.
- Execute approved promotional programs in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years progressive pharma/biotech sales.
- Track record delivering results in specialty/rare disease/orphan/high-science markets.
- Rare disease experience highly preferred; hepatology/gastroenterology/pediatric specialty desirable.
- Strong clinical aptitude; account-based selling experience.
- Insight-led/challenger-style selling experience.
- Working knowledge of access/reimbursement and patient support.
- Strong business acumen; exceptional interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence.
- Proven ability to partner cross-functionally and operate independently.
- Valid driver’s license; travel up to 70% (frequent overnight; occasional weekends).
