Position Summary
- Deliver strong, sustainable business performance and meaningful patient impact across an assigned territory.
- Develop deep clinical and account expertise in rare cholestatic liver diseases; identify and prioritize high-opportunity customers/accounts/referral networks; execute customized account plans to advance awareness, appropriate patient identification, treatment consideration/initiation, and persistence.
Key Responsibilities
Territory Strategy & Business Performance
- Develop and execute a territory business plan aligned to national/zone/regional priorities.
- Use performance data, customer insights, market intelligence, access dynamics, and competitive trends to adjust strategy.
- Prioritize activities, engage customers effectively, steward resources, and drive both behaviors and results.
- Maintain accurate customer records, forecasts, expense/admin documentation, and business updates.
Strategic Account Management & Network Development
- Identify and develop high-opportunity accounts, health systems, centers of excellence, and referral networks (pediatric/adult hepatology and gastroenterology).
- Create and execute customized account plans based on the local patient journey, stakeholders, decision-making, referrals, access considerations, and competition.
- Build trusted relationships across the care team; map influence/decision-making and secure next steps.
- Coordinate compliant actions across field partners; clarify ownership and maintain momentum.
Clinical Aptitude & Customer Engagement
- Maintain deep knowledge of rare cholestatic liver disease and product/clinical data.
- Communicate complex scientific/clinical information clearly and credibly.
- Engage as a clinically credible peer; ask questions, listen for unmet needs, and connect evidence/resources.
- Execute approved promotional programs in full adherence to policies/regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelorโs degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years progressive pharmaceutical/biotech sales experience; success in complex specialty/rare disease/orphan/high-science markets.
- Rare disease experience highly preferred; hepatology/gastroenterology/pediatric specialty desirable.
- Strong clinical aptitude; experience with account-based selling across care teams/referral networks.
- Demonstrated challenger-style, insight-led selling; knowledge of access/reimbursement and patient support pathways.
- Strong business acumen, interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, communication/presentation, judgment.
- Ability to travel up to 70% (frequent overnight; occasional weekends) and hold a valid driverโs license.
