Position Summary
- Deliver strong, sustainable business performance and meaningful patient impact across an assigned territory.
- Develop deep clinical and account expertise in rare cholestatic liver diseases and Mirum’s Liver portfolio.
- Identify/prioritize high-opportunity customers, accounts, and referral networks.
- Execute customized account plans to advance disease awareness, patient identification, treatment consideration, initiation, and persistence in line with approved indications and promotional practices.

Responsibilities
Territory Strategy & Business Performance
- Develop and execute a territory business plan aligned with national/zone/regional priorities.
- Use performance data, customer insights, market intelligence, access dynamics, and competitive trends to identify opportunities and adjust strategy.
- Maintain accurate customer records, forecasts, expense reporting, required documentation, and business updates.

Strategic Account Management & Network Development
- Identify, prioritize, and develop high-opportunity accounts, health systems, centers of excellence, and referral networks.
- Create and execute customized account plans reflecting the local patient journey, stakeholders, decision-making, referrals, access considerations, and competition.
- Build trusted relationships across the care team and secure appropriate next steps.
- Coordinate compliant account actions across field partners and maintain momentum.

Clinical Aptitude & Customer Engagement
- Maintain deep knowledge of rare cholestatic liver disease, diagnostics, mechanisms of action, clinical data, approved uses, safety, patient support, and access/reimbursement.
- Communicate complex clinical/scientific information credibly and tailor discussions to each HCP/account.
- Execute approved promotional programs in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Influence & Impact
- Help customers address gaps in awareness, identification, referral, treatment consideration, and ongoing support.
- Use emotional intelligence and thoughtful questioning to build trust and influence change.

Customer, Patient & Caregiver Impact
- Center patients/caregivers in territory/account decisions.
- Collaborate with Market Access and Patient Services to help care teams navigate barriers.
- Identify and elevate recurring access and patient-support barriers to internal teams.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Field Insights
- Partner with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient Services, Marketing, Commercial Training & Effectiveness, Operations, Analytics, and Advocacy.
- Capture and communicate actionable field insights; contribute to reviews, training, and initiatives.

Entrepreneurial Drive, Resilience & Culture
- Operate with ownership and initiative in an unstructured, rapidly evolving rare disease environment.
- Demonstrate curiosity, coachability, continuous learning, and ethical conduct.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years progressive pharmaceutical/biotech sales experience.
- Track record delivering results in complex specialty/rare disease/orphan/high-science markets.
- Rare disease experience highly preferred; hepatology, gastroenterology, pediatric specialty care desirable.
- Strong clinical aptitude; ability to learn/communicate complex disease, diagnostics, MOA, data, and product information.
- Account-based selling experience across health systems, centers of excellence, multidisciplinary teams, referral networks, and influential HCPs.
- Insight-led/challenger-style selling ability.
- Working knowledge of access & reimbursement and patient support pathways.
- Strong business acumen and data-driven territory/account strategy.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence.
- Proven cross-functional partnership experience (Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient Services, Marketing, Commercial Training & Effectiveness, Operations, Analytics).
- Commitment to ethical conduct, compliance, and approved promotional practices.
- Valid driver’s license; travel up to 70% (frequent overnight; occasional weekends).
