Position Summary
- The Therapeutic Account Manager (TAM) delivers strong, sustainable business performance and meaningful patient impact across an assigned territory by developing clinical and account expertise in rare cholestatic liver diseases.
- Executes customized account plans to advance disease awareness, appropriate patient identification, treatment consideration, initiation, and persistence per approved indications and promotional practices.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a territory business plan; adjust strategy using performance data, customer insights, market intelligence, access dynamics, and competitive trends.
- Prioritize and engage customers effectively; maintain accurate records, forecasts, expense reporting, and required administrative documentation.
- Identify and develop high-opportunity accounts, health systems, centers of excellence, and referral networks (pediatric/adult hepatology and gastroenterology).
- Build trusted relationships with healthcare professionals; map influence in complex accounts and secure appropriate next steps.
- Develop deep knowledge of rare cholestatic liver disease, diagnostics, mechanisms of action, clinical/product information, safety, and patient support/access/reimbursement.
- Communicate complex scientific/clinical information credibly and tailor discussions to each healthcare professional.
- Execute approved promotional programs in full adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with Market Access and Patient Services; identify and escalate access/patient-support barriers.
- Partner cross-functionally (Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient Services, Marketing, Analytics, etc.) and share actionable field insights.
Qualifications
- Bachelorโs degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years progressive pharmaceutical/biotech sales; track record in complex specialty/rare disease/orphan/high-science markets.
- Rare disease experience highly preferred (hepatology/gastroenterology/pediatric specialty desirable).
- Strong clinical aptitude; ability to learn and communicate complex information.
- Account-based selling experience across health systems/COEs/multidisciplinary teams/referral networks.
- Insight-led/challenger-style selling; working knowledge of access/reimbursement and patient support pathways.
- Strong business acumen, interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, and ethical/compliance commitment.
- Valid driverโs license; travel up to 70% (frequent overnights, occasional weekends).
