Position Summary
The Therapeutic Account Manager (TAM) delivers strong, sustainable business performance and meaningful patient impact across an assigned territory in rare cholestatic liver diseases.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a territory business plan aligned to national/zone/regional priorities; use performance data, insights, access dynamics, and competitive trends to adjust strategy.
- Achieve territory objectives via disciplined prioritization, high-quality customer engagement, and accountability; maintain accurate records, forecasts, expenses, and administrative documentation.
- Identify, prioritize, and develop high-opportunity accounts, health systems, centers of excellence, and referral networks (pediatric/adult hepatology & gastroenterology).
- Create and execute customized account plans tied to the local patient journey, stakeholders, decision-making, referral patterns, access, and competition.
- Build trusted relationships across the care team; map influence/decision-making and secure appropriate next steps.
- Maintain deep clinical/product knowledge; communicate complex science credibly; engage as a clinically credible peer.
- Execute approved promotional programs in full compliance with company policy and regulatory requirements.
- Support patient/caregiver-centered decisions; collaborate with Market Access and Patient Services to navigate barriers.
- Partner cross-functionally (Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient Services, Marketing, Training, Operations, Analytics, Advocacy) and share field insights.
- Operate with ownership, resilience, curiosity, and ethical conduct.
Qualifications
- Bachelorโs degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years progressive pharmaceutical/biotech sales.
- Track record in complex specialty/rare/orphan/high-science markets; rare disease experience highly preferred.
- Clinical aptitude to learn/retain/communicate complex disease and product information.
- Experience with account-based selling across care teams, health systems, centers of excellence, and referral networks.
- Insight-led/challenger selling ability; strong business acumen and use of performance data.
- Working knowledge of access/reimbursement and patient support pathways.
- Exceptional interpersonal, emotional intelligence, communication/presentation, judgment.
- Demonstrated cross-functional partnering; commitment to ethical/compliant promotional practices.
- Valid driverโs license; travel up to 70% (frequent overnight; occasional weekends).
