Position Summary
The Therapeutic Account Manager (TAM) delivers strong, sustainable business performance and meaningful patient impact across an assigned territory by developing deep clinical/account expertise in rare cholestatic liver diseases; prioritizing high-opportunity customers/accounts/referral networks; and executing customized account plans that support disease awareness, patient identification, treatment consideration/initiation, and persistence.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a territory business plan aligned to national/zone/regional priorities; use performance data, insights, market intelligence, access dynamics, and competitive trends to adjust strategy.
- Deliver objectives through disciplined prioritization, high-quality customer engagement, effective resource stewardship, and accountability; maintain accurate customer records, forecasts, expense reporting, and required documentation.
- Identify/prioritize accounts, health systems, centers of excellence, and referral networks across pediatric and adult hepatology/gastroenterology.
- Create and execute customized account plans based on the local patient journey, stakeholders, referral patterns, access needs, and competitive realities.
- Build trusted relationships across care teams; map influence/decision-making; secure appropriate next steps and coordinate compliant account actions.
- Develop deep product/disease knowledge; communicate complex clinical/scientific information credibly; execute approved promotional programs in compliance with policies/regulations.
- Use insight-led, challenger-style engagement to influence change; keep patients/caregivers central and collaborate with Market Access/Patient Services.
- Identify and escalate recurring access/patient-support barriers; partner with internal teams to improve execution.
- Collaborate cross-functionally and provide actionable field insights; contribute to reviews, training, and initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelorโs degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years progressive pharma/biotech sales; track record in complex specialty/rare/orphan/high-science markets.
- Rare disease experience preferred; hepatology/gastroenterology/pediatric specialty desirable.
- Strong clinical aptitude; account-based selling experience across health systems/COEs/multidisciplinary teams/referral networks.
- Working knowledge of access/reimbursement and patient support pathways.
- Strong business acumen; exceptional interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence.
- Ability to self-motivate, prioritize, and work independently in a fast-moving environment.
- Valid driverโs license; travel up to 70% (frequent overnight; occasional weekends).
