Position Summary
- Therapeutic Account Manager (TAM) responsible for strong, sustainable business performance and meaningful patient impact across an assigned territory in rare cholestatic liver diseases and Mirum’s Liver portfolio.

Job Functions/Responsibilities
Territory Strategy & Business Performance
- Develop and execute a territory business plan aligned with national/zone/regional priorities.
- Use performance data, customer insights, market intelligence, access dynamics, and competitive trends to identify opportunities and adjust strategy.
- Deliver objectives through disciplined prioritization, high-quality customer engagement, effective resource stewardship, and accountability.
- Maintain accurate customer records, forecasts, expense reporting, administrative documentation, and business updates.

Strategic Account Management & Network Development
- Identify, prioritize, and develop high-opportunity accounts, health systems, centers of excellence, and referral networks.
- Create and execute customized account plans based on local patient journey, stakeholders, clinical decision-making, referrals, access, needs, and competition.
- Build trusted relationships with healthcare professionals and care team members.
- Map influence/decision-making; set engagement objectives; secure next steps that advance account strategy.
- Coordinate compliant account actions across field partners; clarify ownership; maintain momentum.

Clinical Aptitude & Customer Engagement
- Maintain deep knowledge of rare cholestatic liver disease and product-related clinical/scientific information.
- Communicate complex clinical/scientific information clearly and credibly for each account.
- Engage HCPs as a clinically credible peer; ask questions, listen, uncover unmet needs, and connect evidence/resources.
- Execute approved promotional programs and engagements in full compliance with policies and regulatory requirements.

Influence & Impact
- Help identify gaps across disease awareness, patient identification/referral, treatment consideration, and ongoing support.
- Use emotional intelligence and thoughtful questioning to build trust and influence change.
- Influence multiple stakeholders without authority; navigate resistance with judgment, empathy, and respect for boundaries.

Customer, Patient & Caregiver Impact
- Keep patients/caregivers central; support the journey from disease recognition to treatment initiation and persistence.
- Support a customer experience grounded in trust, empathy, responsiveness, urgency, and follow-through.
- Collaborate with Market Access and Patient Services to navigate patient-journey barriers.
- Identify barriers and elevate them promptly to improve execution/support.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Field Insights
- Partner with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient Services, Marketing, Commercial Training and Effectiveness, Operations, Analytics, and Advocacy.
- Coordinate account strategy across field roles and ensure consistent follow-through.
- Capture and share timely, objective, actionable field insights.
- Contribute to business reviews, training, team meetings, launch readiness, and cross-functional initiatives.

Qualifications
Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive pharmaceutical/biotechnology sales experience.
- Track record delivering results in complex specialty/rare disease/orphan/high-science markets.
- Rare disease experience highly preferred; hepatology, gastroenterology, pediatric specialty care, or other complex specialty experience highly desirable.
Skills/Requirements
- Strong clinical aptitude; ability to learn/retain/communicate complex disease-state and product information.
- Experience with account-based selling across health systems, centers of excellence, multidisciplinary care teams, referral networks, and influential HCPs.
- Ability to use insight-led/challenger-style selling to challenge status quo and advance decision-making.
- Working knowledge of access/reimbursement dynamics and patient support pathways.
- Strong business acumen; ability to interpret performance data and develop/execute territory and account strategies.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, communication/presentation, judgment, and ability to build trust.
- Self-motivation, resourcefulness, resilience, organization; able to prioritize and perform independently.
- Demonstrated success partnering cross-functionally with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient Services, Marketing, Commercial Training and Effectiveness, Operations, and Analytics.
- Commitment to ethical conduct, compliance, and approved promotional practices.
Logistics
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel up to 70% (frequent overnight travel; occasional weekend commitments).
