Position Summary
The Therapeutic Account Manager (TAM) delivers strong business performance and meaningful patient impact across an assigned territory by developing clinical and account expertise in rare cholestatic liver diseases and Mirum’s Liver portfolio, prioritizing high-opportunity customers/accounts/referral networks, and executing customized account plans to advance disease awareness, patient identification, treatment consideration/initiations/persistence per approved indications and promotional practices.

Responsibilities
Territory Strategy & Business Performance
- Develop and execute a focused territory business plan with clear objectives, customer priorities, resource allocation, and success measures.
- Use performance data, customer insights, market intelligence, access dynamics, and competitive trends to identify opportunities, anticipate barriers, and adjust strategy.
- Deliver territory objectives through disciplined prioritization, high-quality engagement, effective resource stewardship, and accountability.
- Maintain accurate customer records, forecasts, expense reporting, required documentation, and business updates.

Strategic Account Management & Network Development
- Identify, prioritize, and develop high-opportunity accounts and referral networks across pediatric/adult hepatology and gastroenterology.
- Create and execute customized account plans aligned to the local patient journey, stakeholders, decision-making, referral patterns, access considerations, and competition.
- Build trusted relationships across the care team and map influence/decision-making to secure next steps.
- Coordinate compliant account actions across field partners.

Clinical Aptitude & Customer Engagement
- Maintain deep knowledge of rare cholestatic liver disease and product/clinical/access/safety/patient support information.
- Communicate complex scientific/clinical information credibly and clearly, tailored to each HCP/account.
- Engage as a clinically credible peer; ask questions, listen, uncover unmet needs, and connect evidence/resources.
- Execute approved promotional programs and engagements in full adherence to policies and regulatory requirements.

Influence & Impact; Patient/Caregiver Impact; Cross-Functional Collaboration; Culture
- Reframe gaps across the patient journey; build trust and influence stakeholders without authority.
- Keep patients/caregivers central; support empathetic, responsive customer experience.
- Collaborate with Market Access and Patient Services to navigate barriers.
- Partner internally to address recurring access/patient-support barriers.
- Collaborate with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient Services, Marketing, Commercial Training & Effectiveness, Operations, Analytics, and Advocacy; share actionable field insights and best practices.
- Demonstrate ownership, resilience, continuous learning, and ethical, compliant conduct.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years progressive pharmaceutical/biotech sales experience.
- Track record delivering business results in complex specialty/rare disease/orphan/high-science markets.
- Rare disease experience highly preferred; hepatology, gastroenterology, pediatric specialty, or other complex specialty desirable.
- Strong clinical aptitude and ability to learn/communicate complex disease-state, diagnostics, MOA, clinical data, and product information.
- Account-based selling experience across health systems/centers of excellence/multidisciplinary teams/referral networks/influential HCPs.
- Ability to use insight-led/challenger-style selling to constructively challenge status quo and advance decision-making.
- Working knowledge of access & reimbursement and patient support pathways/patient services in rare disease.
- Strong business acumen to interpret data, develop strategies, and execute.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, and communication/presentation/judgment.
- Self-motivation, resourcefulness, resilience, organization, and independent prioritization.
- Proven cross-functional partnership success (Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient Services, Marketing, Commercial Training & Effectiveness, Operations, Analytics).
- Commitment to ethical conduct, compliance, and approved promotional practices.
- Valid driver’s license; travel up to 70% (frequent overnight; occasional weekend commitments).
