Position Summary:
Specialty Sales Territory Business Manager (TBM), reporting to the Regional Sales Director. Maximize sales of MannKind products within the geographic territory and drive sales growth.
Accountabilities:
- Achieve territory sales goals while adhering to MannKind compliance policies/procedures and FDA label-consistent messages.
- Deliver effective sales presentations to targeted customers.
- Identify and establish customer relationships; maintain in-depth knowledge of disease state, products, competition, and territory.
- Maintain agreed-upon territory budgets and timelines.
- Align territory growth to business unit strategy; use available tactics/resources.
- Solve customer challenges by translating clinical data into a patient-specific picture of product clinical attributes.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Total account management: engage customers, develop relationships, and create value.
- Reduce practice pathway friction using approved materials/programs/resources.
- Maintain and communicate latest clinical/industry/medical data compliantly.
- Monitor sales activity; identify growth opportunities using geography insights.
- Organize plan and call routing; execute data-based pre- and post-call plans.
- Communicate effectively with customers, peers, and stakeholders.
- Demonstrate knowledge of Type 1 & 2 diabetes, competitive landscape, and treatment guidelines.
- Drive utilization of approved products with relevant specialists and healthcare professionals.
- Build relationships with Product Marketing/Management for voice-of-customer/market insights.
- Maintain technical/professional knowledge via training, publications, and networks.
- Complete tasks on time with quality and compliance; learn/analyze/convey complex information.
- Fully comply with laws/regulations, company policies, privacy/data guidelines, and PDMA terms.
- Participate in meetings/training as required; represent Company at conventions when requested.
- Observe Company Health/Safety/Environmental guidelines; use Marketing/Sales tools.
- Overnight travel may be required.
Education & Experience:
Basic (required):
- Bachelor’s + 3 years sales OR Associate’s + 6 years sales OR HS/GED + 8 years sales.
- Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
- Must live within territory boundaries.
Preferred:
- 3+ years selling in complex/competitive environment.
- Prior sales/pharma experience in Endocrinology and/or Nephrology.
- Pre-existing Endocrinology and/or Nephrology relationships in territory (3+ years).
- Knowledge of Type 1 & 2 diabetes and nephrology treatment landscape/guidelines.
- Product launch experience; Medicare population experience is a plus.
- Experience with HUBs/specialty pharmacies; Medicare coverage determination facilitation or prior authorization experience.
- Healthcare/pharmaceutical industry knowledge; ability to understand related regulations.
- Strong sales-cycle and clinical-selling skills (compliant, data-driven).
- Documented sales growth in competitive field; self-motivated/accountable.
