Territory Business Manager (TBM) responsibilities:
- Sell Alkermes products in the Pittsburgh North territory and support promotional efforts by using product, disease state, and market knowledge and sound selling skills.
- Educate healthcare providers using available resources.
- Use analytical ability to determine appropriate targets and use approved resources accordingly.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate strong understanding of Alkermes products, related disease states, and related marketplace products.
- Demonstrate strong selling skills using approved sales aids, approved studies, and reprints; use superior communication and listening skills with targeted healthcare providers to increase product use with appropriate patients.
- Manage the territory by identifying and calling on appropriate numbers of healthcare provider targets at required frequencies; continually develop, review, update, and maintain provider target lists using latest information/data.
- Utilize available resources/programs (e.g., samples, Promotional Speaker Programs) to increase business; discuss territory business with District Business Leader (DBL) as needed.
- Develop business plans as required by the DBL; complete administrative tasks timely, accurately, and truthfully.
- Exercise fiscal control of operational expenses (car, gas, office supplies, telephone, postage, lodging, meals, and entertainment).
- Work productively with related roles (other representatives, DBL, RMDs, Marketing, Key Accounts, and headquarters personnel).
- Abide by Alkermes policies and regulations for promotional compliance and sample accountability.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:
- BA/BS required
- 2+ years successful pharmaceutical/biotech sales experience required
- Must live within the geography of responsibility
- Driverβs license in good standing
- Ability to demonstrate or secure appropriate healthcare provider credentialing for facility access
Preferred qualifications:
- 5+ years successful pharmaceutical/biotech sales experience
- Specialty sales experience
- Demonstrated superior organizational and administrative skills
- Demonstrated past sales performance/success
- Strong analytical, strategic, and influencing skills
- Some overnight travel may be required
Compensation/Benefits (as stated)
- Annual base salary: $125k to $155k
- Performance-based sales incentive bonus targeted at $45k annually; eligibility for long-term incentive program
