Territory Business Manager (TBM) is responsible for selling Alkermes products in the Fairfield County territory and supporting promotional efforts. Ideal candidates are proven sales achievers who live in the territory. This is done through thorough product, disease state, and market knowledge, sound selling skills, use of available resources to educate healthcare providers, analytical skills to determine appropriate targets, and use of approved resources.
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of Alkermes products, related disease states, and related marketplace products
- Use approved sales aids, approved studies, and reprints; demonstrate superior communication and listening skills with targeted healthcare providers
- Gain agreement for increased product use with appropriate patients from target healthcare providers
- Manage territory by identifying and calling on appropriate numbers of healthcare provider targets with required frequency
- Develop, review, update, and maintain healthcare provider target lists based on latest information and data
- Utilize available resources and programs (samples, Promotional Speaker Programs, etc.) to increase business
- Develop business plans as required by the District Business Leader (DBL) and complete administrative tasks timely and accurately
- Exercise fiscal control of operational expenses (car, gas, office supplies, telephone, postage, lodging, meals, and entertainment)
- Work productively with related personnel (other representatives, DBL, RMDs, Marketing, Key Accounts, and headquarters)
- Abide by all promotional compliance and sample accountability requirements
Qualifications:
Minimum:
- BA/BS required
- 2+ years successful pharmaceutical/biotech sales experience
- Must live within the geography of responsibility
- Driverβs license in good standing
- Ability to demonstrate or secure appropriate credentialing for healthcare provider access
Preferred:
- 5+ years successful pharmaceutical/biotech sales experience
- Specialty sales experience
- Demonstrated superior organizational and administrative skills
- Demonstrated past sales performance/success
- Strong analytical, strategic, and influencing skills
- Some overnight travel may be required
Compensation/Benefits (included as stated):
- Annual base salary: $125kβ$155k; performance-based sales incentive bonus targeted at $45k annually; eligibility for long-term incentive program; competitive benefits package
