Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Meet or exceed territory sales goals; develop and implement territory strategies aligned to brand strategy and local market forces.
- Establish and maintain professional relationships with hospital/ASC decision-makers and key contacts (surgeons, anesthesiologists, pharmacy directors) to drive adoption of Heronβs acute care portfolio.
- Ensure products are included in hospital formulary and in EMR systems, protocols, and standing orders.
- Deliver compliant, current, accurate sales presentations; customize discussions to customer needs.
- Engage strategic partners to build long-term relationships.
- Provide safe and effective product use instructions in and out of the OR, including surgeon/clinical in-services.
- Maintain clinical knowledge of products, disease states, and competitor offerings.
- Perform duties in compliance with regulations/Pharma guidelines; complete administrative tasks (including CRM) accurately and on time.
Requirements / Qualifications
- BS degree preferred (relevant field); experience may substitute.
- 3+ years account management in medical device/pharma sales targeting surgeons (experience in lieu considered); targeting anesthesiologists is a plus.
- Strongly preferred: pharmaceutical hospital sales with P&T process; experience partnering with pharmacists is a plus.
- Experience selling in orthopedic/general surgery; pain management market knowledge preferred.
- 1+ year OR experience working alongside physicians and staff.
- Demonstrated business planning skills; experience with protocols/standing orders and pull-through.
- Ability to ask strategic questions, build business plans, and competently position products vs. competition.
- Must be available evenings/weekends; early OR mornings frequently required.
- Full-time field role (100% customer focus); travel as needed; valid driverβs license.
Compensation (as stated)
- Base salary: $140,000β$175,000 plus target bonus: $65,000.
