The Position
- Coach, support, and develop technical competencies on shift needed to support successful execution of production and maintenance processes.
Essential Functions
- Act as a maintenance advocate: coordinate daily schedule, remove barriers, and enable maintenance to run optimally.
- Serve as coach and technical mentor for maintenance technicians.
- Execute process confirmation of maintenance standards used on shift; partner with process team to proactively improve quality and compliance.
- Coach maintenance Event Response process.
- Visualize/track events and actions.
- Confirm maintenance technicians understand and follow processes.
- Verify solutions work and are shared across shifts.
- Manage development plan for maintenance technicians on shift.
- Execute shift maintenance plan; review and close work orders.
- Ensure maintenance work is properly documented in SAP and log-books.
- Implement process improvements.
- Follow all safety and environmental requirements; other accountabilities as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field from an accredited university.
- (Or) Associate’s Degree in a technical field from an accredited university plus 7+ years of maintenance/manufacturing experience (preferably pharmaceutical).
- (Or) High School Diploma/equivalent plus 9+ years of maintenance/manufacturing experience (preferably pharmaceutical).
- Minimum 5 years of maintenance/manufacturing experience (preferably pharmaceutical).
Preferred
- Leadership experience (direct or indirect).
- Knowledge of one or more automated/high-speed systems: Filling, Formulation, Inspection, Assembly, Bulk manufacturing, Packaging, Utilities, or HVAC.
- Experience driving process improvements/design using systematic methodologies (preferably Lean and Six Sigma).
- Proven expertise in mentoring/developing, change management, planning/organizing, managing execution, and revising work plans for complex cross-functional problems.
Physical Requirements (as stated)
- Move equipment/supplies up to 33 lbs; operate/inspect manufacturing equipment; be on feet up to 12 hours; may require corrected vision, color vision, ladder/elevated work, work with hazardous/odorous materials, latex gloves, extremely cold environments, confined-space work, loud noise environments with hearing protection, occasional outdoor weather; pass powered industrial truck driving exam.
