Role Summary

Surgical Account Executive to lead and manage all sales and marketing activity within the assigned market, developing new accounts and maintaining or expanding existing accounts. Execute the company's sales strategy and market penetration goals, and implement initiatives to increase market share through targeted therapeutic specialties.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a developing market with contract sales agents, handling a larger sales volume than entry level position without direct reports
  • Plan, develop, and execute key account strategies and business plans; identify high-use physicians and build key metro area accounts
  • Develop systems and procedures for key accounts to ensure ease of product use, best patient outcomes, and positive customer experience
  • Prepare reports (sales results/projections, staff development) and market forecasts; analyze opportunities, barriers, and growth strategies
  • Manage and develop local contract sales agents, resources, and budgets to meet or exceed sales objectives
  • Research and monitor market-specific sales factors to capitalize on opportunities and maintain competitive edge
  • Foster a goal-oriented environment emphasizing performance, accountability, teamwork, credibility, and success
  • Ensure all sales activities comply with company policies and standards
  • Provide support to the local sales team, answer questions, provide approved materials, and participate in calls/meetings
  • Coordinate sales activities with assigned accounts as a liaison between local sales team and contract agents to ensure unified approach and accurate commissions
  • Leverage contracts/resources to recruit new contract sales agents; develop and manage training for agents to build product expertise

Qualifications

  • Education: BS/BA in related discipline; 2-5 years in related field with 1-3 years progressive responsibility, or MS/MA with 1-3 years of related experience; certification may be required in some areas
  • Preferred: 3-4 years of experience in the medical device, biotechnology, and tissue segments; experience in high-growth organizations and developing growth-focused relationships

  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to interact with all levels of management and customers
  • Influence others to achieve results with tenacity and diplomacy
  • Organized, flexible, able to multi-task with attention to detail
  • Strong analytical, strategic, and technical analysis, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to analyze markets, plan sales strategies, and present clinical/scientific data to physicians
  • Proven track record of sales results and growth in top-line revenue
  • Demonstrated skills in strategic selling and market analytics
  • Ability to build a network of healthcare provider relationships (physicians, clinicians, program directors, etc.)

Education

  • BS/BA in related discipline or MS/MA with related experience; certifications as applicable

Additional Requirements

  • Work environment: Field-based with travel 30-40% of the time
