The Supervisor of Tank Farm, Truck & Rail Operations manages tank farm operations, air emissions systems, and truck/rail loading and unloading for their area and shift. As the management representative on shift, the supervisor leads operators executing operations per SOPs/instructions to safely and compliantly support GMP manufacturing of high-quality medicine. Ensures appropriate staffing, operator training, equipment compliance, and validated processes.
Key objectives/deliverables:
- Build and promote a strong Safety and Quality culture; protect safety, environment, and quality.
- Ensure operations comply with all regulatory requirements.
- Ensure tank farm and truck/rail loading/unloading areas support the site production plan.
- Maintain consistency of operations on the designated shift through active engagement.
- Ensure audit action items are completed timely.
- Enter Trackwise/Veeva events; participate in and lead CAPA investigations.
- Set objectives and development plans; handle employee relations issues and escalate as needed.
- Manage required events; ensure communication with internal/external teams and provide input to investigations.
- Ensure operators are appropriately trained; procedures and training materials are current.
- Communicate site objectives and team business; manage resourcing and overtime.
Startup phase (Lebanon API site, 2025โ2027):
- Build organizational capability/capacity/culture for operational excellence.
- Develop and implement site systems/processes (using Lilly knowledge and external learning).
- Ensure regulatory compliance and operational excellence using lean principles.
- Support project team with feedback during facility delivery.
Basic requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years supervisory experience in chemical/manufacturing operations.
- Authorized to work in the U.S. full-time; no visa sponsorship.
- Completion of Post Offer Exam or Work Simulation (if applicable).
Additional preferences (skills/experience):
- Bachelorโs or Associateโs degree in science/engineering/technical field.
- Startup environment experience.
- Tank farm and/or truck & rail loading/unloading experience.
- Leadership experience; feedback and employee development plan experience.
- Basic computer skills (desktop software).
- FDA guidelines and cGMP knowledge.
- Strong organization; ability to handle/prioritize multiple requests.
- Technical aptitude; ability to train and mentor.

Additional information:
- 12-hour rotating shifts; ability to work overtime.
- Possible short-term assignment (6โ12 months in Indianapolis and/or 1โ3 months domestic/international) to train/certify; short travel (<1 month) for equipment testing.
