Strategic Planning and Operations Senior Manager

What You Will Do
- Provide strategic and operational support to Early Development Oncology Therapeutic Area; partner with the VP, Global Early Development.
- Strategy & Leadership: Support leadership in strategy development, goal setting, and execution of organizational plans; define and implement operational strategy aligned with Oncology TA priorities; advise on priorities, progress, risks, and gaps; represent business strategy and collaborate with HR, Finance, and Corporate Communications.
- Project Leadership & Execution: Lead complex, cross-functional initiatives; translate ambiguous business needs into actionable plans and high-impact outcomes; manage ambiguity, ad hoc requests, and shifting priorities independently.
- Operational Planning & Resource Management: Lead budget and resource planning (forecasting, tracking, alignment with global processes); oversee resource modeling and forecasting assumptions; manage headcount planning and approvals with HR (recruiting, onboarding, talent management); oversee validation/maintenance of resource algorithms and review of forecasting assumptions.
- Performance & Communications: Develop dashboards, reports, and executive presentations; lead preparation of leadership and staff meetings (agenda setting, content development, facilitating external speaker engagement).
- Cross-Functional Collaboration & Continuous Improvement: Build partnerships across Global Development SP&Os and R&D functions; lead/represent function in process improvement initiatives to advance operational efficiency and consistency.

What We Expect Of You
Basic Qualifications:
- Doctorate degree and 2 years of experience in R&D planning and operations; or
- Master’s degree and 4 years of experience in R&D strategic planning and operations; or
- Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of experience in R&D planning and operations; or
- Associate’s degree and 10 years of experience in R&D planning and operations; or
- High school diploma/GED and 12 years of experience in R&D planning and operations.

Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA, PhD, PharmD, or Master’s degree with 10+ years in lab sciences/biopharmaceutical industry and 4+ years in Oncology R&D; knowledge of clinical development, financial budgeting, and workforce strategies.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and organizational change initiatives, including business case development.
- Strong conceptual problem-solving; ability to bring structure to vague problems and scope/pragmatically execute.
- Strong influencing and negotiating skills across levels.
- Demonstrated organization management experience, including developing and mentoring staff.
