Responsibilities:
- Lead site readiness and activation by managing site assessment and preparation to ensure treatment centers can procure and administer a one-time therapy upon approval
- Execute infusion network strategy, including building capacity for patient access and developing standard operating procedures to enable infusions
- Provide buy-and-bill support by working with Patient Access Liaisons on reimbursement, prior authorization, and financial assistance for high-cost therapies
- Coordinate one-time treatment operations, including development/management of care pathways (EMR development, billing/reimbursement, procurement, patient scheduling, product delivery, and infusion administration)
- Assess patient demand to support appropriate treatment capacity upon approval and beyond
- Develop and execute account plans emphasizing cell and gene therapy capabilities and readiness
- Build and maintain C-level relationships with decision makers at IDNs, health systems, academic medical centers, community practices, and alternative sites of care
- Identify and qualify treatment sites based on patient population, infrastructure capabilities, and clinical expertise
- Serve as primary point of contact for complex, multi-stakeholder implementation processes
- Navigate market access challenges including payer negotiations, patient access programs, and specialty pharmacy partnerships
- Manage extended sales cycles from site qualification through first patient treatment
- Coordinate with hub services, specialty pharmacies, and patient support programs for seamless care delivery
- Conduct site capability assessments (capacity/forecasting, cold chain, infusion suite requirements, and staff training needs)
- Coordinate provider training programs for therapy administration
- Collaborate with medical science liaisons, regional business managers, patient access managers, and patient hub services
Qualifications / Skills:
- Exceptional relationship-building and communication skills across clinical, administrative, and C-suite stakeholders
- Strong project management skills for complex site activation timelines
- Experience with CRM systems and site readiness tracking tools
- Ability to translate complex scientific/logistical concepts for diverse audiences
- Strong negotiation skills for site agreements/contracts
- Willingness to travel 60โ70% (domestic and international)
Education:
- Bachelorโs degree in Life Sciences, Business, or related field; advanced degree preferred
Experience (required/preferred):
- 7+ years in sales and/or strategic account management with IDNs or healthcare systems in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, or rare disease
- 3+ years in cell and gene therapies or other advanced therapeutic modalities
- Proven track record managing high-value, low-volume product launches
- Experience with buy and bill reimbursement models and specialty pharmacy networks
- Experience with FDA-approved cell and gene therapies or other high-cost, buy-and-bill, provider-administered therapies
- Experience with product launches requiring specialized infrastructure build and center of excellence implementation
- Experience working with academic medical centers, healthcare systems, and IDNs
- Experience developing/executing on site activation and infusion strategies
