We are searching for a Staff Process Engineer to be located in Irvine, CA.

Purpose
- Seasoned individual contributor in a scientific/technology field. Defines industry-proven principles and practices to generate comprehensive supply chain engineering project plans, associated key performance metrics, goals, and objectives. Works collaboratively with management to drive decisions regarding process engineering schematics and methods to produce comprehensive engineering structure, operational efficiencies, and final deliverables.

Overview
- Works on most assignments with instructions about general results expected. May receive technical guidance on unusual/complex problems, but independently determines and develops approaches to solutions.
- Analyzes problems of diverse scope requiring evaluation of identifiable factors.
- Identifies and solves opportunities to reduce product cost through materials and engineering techniques.

You Will Be Responsible For
- Apply diversified engineering knowledge and principles across broad assignment areas.
- Lead cost reduction efforts across products, materials, and techniques using engineering principles and financial impacts.
- Make independent engineering decisions and represent the organization in conferences to resolve important questions and plan/coordinate work.
- Use advanced techniques; modify and extend theories, practices, and related disciplines.
- Provide financial background for manufacturing practices (e.g., Cost of Goods theory, overhead rates, labor rates, CAGR).
- Supervision/guidance on overall requirements, critical issues, new concepts, and policy matters; consult supervisor on unusual problems.
- Plan, develop, coordinate, and direct one or more engineering projects (large or multiple small complex projects) in a supervisory capacity; or execute complex/novel assignments as an individual researcher.
- Develop and evaluate plans and criteria for projects/activities carried out by others.

Education
- Bachelor of Science (typically 6–8 years related experience/training) or MS degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Skills & Experience
- Mastery of theoretical/practical fundamentals and experimental engineering techniques; demonstrated technical skills.
- Ability to work across levels of management and clearly present/respond to questions from managers, peers, and customers.
- Knowledge of equipment and facilities maintenance systems, calibration standards, tooling processes, and documentation control systems in a regulated manufacturing environment.
- Extensive knowledge of drafting software (AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks).
- Good leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to travel as needed/requested.
- PC skills and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to manage at least one major project.
- Knowledge of project management principles, methods, tools, and techniques.
- Experience in medical device or automotive/aerospace industry (asset).
- Ability to successfully complete company/department manufacturing techniques training.
- Ability to learn regulatory (GMP) requirements.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision/guidance.
- Excellent English reading, writing, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills & Experience
- Knowledge of PLC, HMI, and other process control equipment (plus).
- Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma tools/methodology (plus).

Other
- Located in Irvine, CA; may require up to 10% domestic travel.
- Weekend/overtime and/or off-site work may be required.
- May require clean-room garments and work near moving parts.
- May be exposed to fumes/airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, electrical shock risk; noise level may be loud.
