Role Summary
Staff Accountant at Organogenesis. Hybrid role based in Canton, MA, reporting to the Director of Accounting and Operations. Involves month-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, financial analysis, and internal/external reporting, with cross-functional collaboration across accounting, FP&A, and operations.
Responsibilities
- Support the monthly close process, including the preparation and posting of journal entries and maintenance of support schedules
- Complete account reconciliations, researching adequacy of balances and analyzing fluctuations across periods
- Provide financial analysis on specific accounts through variance reports
- Assist with the implementation of new accounting policies under U.S. GAAP and SEC requirements
- Assist in the preparation and filing of public reports (10-K and 10-Q) with detailed work papers to support disclosures
- Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
- Assist with SOX 404 internal control documentation and testing
- Collaborate with external audit staff for quarter-end reviews and year-end audits
- Act as a key team member in the ERP implementation of Microsoft Dynamics 365
- Handle clerical and administrative tasks to maintain a well-organized finance function
- Support ad hoc financial analyses and projects as assigned
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelorโs degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Required: 1-3+ years of experience in general accounting
- Preferred: Public accounting experience and CPA
- Preferred: Experience with Microsoft AX/Dynamics 365
- Required: Ability to adhere to tight reporting deadlines
- Required: Strong knowledge and understanding of GAAP
- Required: Detail-oriented with strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Required: Proficient with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
