The Training Manager, Oncology, will help develop and deliver Oncology Training for commercial field representatives. Reporting to the Associate Director of Training, this person will work with training peers and global trainers to develop training on disease, product, sales effectiveness, market knowledge, and operations for the Commercial organization.
Key Accountabilities/Core Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain subject matter expertise for disease states, products, and therapeutic areas
- Develop and execute training programs with minimal guidance
- Design and enhance curriculum to meet Commercial needs
- Coordinate with Marketing, Legal, Compliance, Medical, and Regulatory to ensure accurate medical content and compliance with promotional policies
- Manage vendors and contract requirements for training content
- Perform project management for development of training content
- Lead training meetings (planning, logistics, vendor monitoring, participant conduct)
- Partner with Marketing, Precision Medicine, and Commercial Leadership to meet brand objectives and coordinate training rollout
- Influence and lead without authority via cross-functional collaboration (Marketing, Sales, Market Access, etc.)
- Collaborate with external partners and partner-company colleagues for best-in-class deliverables and alignment
- Build trust/credibility through regular interaction and feedback
- Act as a resource for field sales (sales meetings and field rides)
- Design and lead training work sessions at National Sales and POA Meetings
- Develop and maintain facilitation skills for training delivery
- Continually assess training needs for clinical fluency and development competencies and provide feedback
Qualifications:
- Bachelorβs degree required
- 5+ years pharmaceutical/biotech industry experience preferred
- Training, Marketing, or Sales experience preferred
- Knowledge of Medical Oncology and Gynecologic oncology preferred
- Experience developing tools to enhance clinical acumen (plus)
- Knowledge of adult learning principles and training design/platforms (plus)
- Collaboration, professionalism, ability in complex cross-functional environment, work in unstructured environment
- Strategic insight; exceptional oral presentation and leadership communication
- Strong learning, problem solving, interpersonal, organizational, and multi-tasking skills
- Self-motivated with minimal supervision
- Familiarity with AI/innovative platforms (iPAD) and MS tools (highly desirable)
- Headquarter-based (preferred location ABV1); remote open with ~50% travel to headquarters
