Role Summary

Sr. Therapeutic Specialist, Oncology - Brooklyn, NY. Represents Gilead's oncology products and services to a defined customer base, generating and growing sales within a specific geographic area, including in-person and face-to-face interactions with healthcare practitioners. Builds relationships with healthcare practices, delivers disease awareness information and clinical updates, and facilitates patient access to treatment. Requires strong communication, presentation skills, and ability to synthesize complex clinical concepts for diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for representing Oncology products and services to a defined customer base, generating and growing sales, and consistently achieving or exceeding sales targets within a specific geographic area
  • Prepare a business plan for your territory to achieve goals and initiate systems to monitor sales progress and action plans
  • Identify patient pathways within oncology offices in the assigned territory and facilitate patient access to treatment
  • Promote assigned products to targeted oncologists and office staff, in-servicing all staff to ensure safe and appropriate drug administration, and inform staff about Gilead patient services
  • Establish and develop business relationships with key customers, accounts, and relevant key opinion leaders
  • Experience in hospital and large account sales, managing through complex reimbursement issues
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, solid presentation skills, and ability to influence others to represent Gilead at professional events and promote company products
  • Partner with Medical Scientists, Marketing, and Market Access on cross-functional projects to drive sales and patient adoption
  • Demonstrates leadership among peers by compliant behavior and conduct
  • Assist in identifying and resolving issues and opportunities, communicate proactively to Marketing and Sales management
  • Complete necessary administrative tasks promptly (e.g., updating customer database, expenses)
  • Ensure compliance with Gilead commercial policy and applicable laws and guidance relating to product promotion and information dissemination

Qualifications

  • Ability to engage in travel as reasonably required within the assigned area; valid driver's license required
  • Education: High School Degree with 11 years of experience; OR Associate's with 9 years; OR Bachelor's with 7 years; OR Master's with 5 years

Preferred Qualifications

  • 7+ years of pharmaceutical/healthcare sales experience; BS/BA or equivalent preferred
  • Previous product launch experience
  • Strong selling skills in competitive markets
  • Experience in oncology therapy; preferred experience in breast cancer
  • Aptitude for understanding scientific product information
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, especially with oncology key opinion leaders
  • Negotiation and account planning skills; cross-functional account management
  • Self-motivated with autonomy; aware of industry trends
  • Analytical skills to interpret information and provide recommendations
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
