This role is field-based; candidates should live within a reasonable distance from the primary city.
Responsibilities
- Execute brand strategy and tactics in field; manage assigned territory and targeted accounts; build strong customer relationships; solve customer needs to maximize short- and long-term sales performance.
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives.
- Create pre-call plans using SMART objectives and complete post-call evaluations; handle objections and consistently close on calls.
- Proactively serve customer needs and challenges to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute call plans to achieve call metrics and optimize coverage/frequency to key customers.
- Build and share market intelligence (customer needs, landscape, competitors, segments/dynamics, accounts, disease/product/clinical & sales expertise) with in-field team, brand team, and sales manager.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition; develop/maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business-related field preferred; relevant/equivalent industry experience required.
- If no bachelor’s degree: at least 5 years’ experience with 3+ years in pharmaceutical/health/science industry; high school diploma/GED required.
- Proven sales success; solid presentation skills; innovative ideas; strategic and critical thinking.
- In-depth scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge; strong business acumen and ability to operate in a matrix environment.
- Influences others; credible role model; collaborative and provides peer coaching.
- Documented success in leadership/support with increased responsibility.
- Ability to drive personal or company vehicle or powered material handling equipment; valid driver’s license and safe driving ability.
- Travel as needed; overnight attendance at training and sales meetings.
- Preferred: sales performance success in respective therapeutic areas; physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing experience; English proficiency.
- Satisfy HCIR credentialing requirements to access assigned facilities/organizations (may include background checks, drug screens, immunization proof, fingerprinting, and state/city licenses).
