Position Summary (Sr. MSL): Field-based medical resource for compliant scientific exchange on Rigel pipeline, research areas, approved products, and disease states with HCPs, patient advocacy groups, payors, industry partners, and internal colleagues. Territory: KY, TN, NC, AR, MS, LA. Candidate must reside in one of these states and be near a major airport.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain peer-to-peer collaborations with key medical experts in the region
- Maintain a KOL/HCP database for the territory
- Work with internal Medical Affairs on publications, investigator-sponsored research, advisory boards, speaker/training, and educational programs
- Serve as a scientific resource with up-to-date medical/product information
- Respond to unsolicited medical information requests in a timely, fair-balanced manner
- Coordinate scientific opportunities with field-based and internal colleagues
- Deliver clinical presentations to practices, P&T committee members, medical directors, payors, and decision makers
- Support managed care/market access with clinical data
- Support scientific conferences, advisory boards, clinical investigator meetings, and patient advocacy meetings as requested
- Gather and report insights on products, pipeline, clinical data, disease management, and unmet needs
- Assess unsolicited investigator-initiated research proposals and serve as point-person
- Support clinical initiatives (site identification, trial recruitment, and presentation of approved data)
- Act as internal expert on disease states; train colleagues on key topics
- Maintain compliance with legal/regulatory guidelines
Knowledge/Skills/Qualifications:
- Advanced degree required: MD, PharmD, PhD (biological sciences); RN/NP/PA considered with strong relevant experience
- Required: hematology (ITP, AML) or oncology (NSCLC) industry/clinical experience
- Preferred: 3+ years as an MSL in pharma/biotech or relevant hematology/oncology clinical experience
- Plus: experience with recently launched biologics/therapeutics
- Preference: strong networks with hematologists/oncologists
- Excellent oral/written communication; proficient in MS Word and Excel; strong cross-functional teamwork
Travel: ~70%.
Benefits/Compensation (as stated): National $166,000–$205,000; Premium SFBA/NYC/Boston $183,000–$225,000. Eligible for annual bonus and equity incentives (non-commission). Medical, dental, vision; life/disability; flexible spending; 401(k); paid time off and holidays.
