Responsibilities:
- Contribute to identifying therapeutic areas for pipeline agents based on mechanism of action, pathophysiology, unmet need, and other considerations.
- Provide strategic input into the design and selection of clinical trial endpoints.
- Maintain awareness of the evolving treatment landscape, therapeutic trends, external pipelines, payer landscape, and communication needs across disease areas.
- Analyze scientific data and external stakeholder evidence to identify challenges, opportunities, and strategic imperatives to demonstrate portfolio value.
- Build relationships with medical opinion leaders, researchers, medical societies, and patient advocacy organizations.
- Collaborate with Health Outcomes Research and Patient Advocacy to represent the patient voice in clinical development.
- Provide medical/scientific training and/or support to other staff across functions.
- Lead medical affairs strategic planning for pipeline assets; ensure alignment with programmatic goals and execute medical tactics.
- Guide scientific/medical communication planning; review and approve scientific publications, investigator-initiated study proposals, medical education grants, and related communications.
Qualifications:
- Self-starter who can work independently and manage complex issues with multiple internal/external stakeholders.
- Experience in a highly matrixed environment and leading through influence.
- Proven problem-solving and excellent written/verbal communication; experience presenting to senior management and external stakeholders.
- Advanced degree in science or medicine required (MD, PhD, PharmD).
- 5+ yearsβ biopharmaceutical industry experience.
- Medical Affairs experience preferred.
- Neurology or psychiatry training/experience preferred.
- Experience with peer-reviewed publications.
- Strong scientific background; creativity and flexibility.
- Working knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements.
Other:
- Travel up to 25% (domestic and international).
- Hybrid preferred; eligible hybrid model with onsite work in Waltham, MA at least 3 days/week; not fully remote.
Compensation/benefits:
- Annual base salary: $290,000β$340,000; eligible for annual performance bonus; competitive benefits package.
