Responsibilities
- Serve as a subject matter expert in sleep medicine, orexin biology, and Alixorexton data; track the evolving sleep medicine landscape, pipelines, and payer trends.
- Analyze and interpret scientific/disease landscape evidence to identify challenges, opportunities, and strategic imperatives to demonstrate Alixorexton value.
- Lead Alixorexton medical affairs strategic planning and launch planning; align medical plans to program goals and execute medical tactics.
- Lead the Alixorexton Medical Affairs Strategy Team and participate in key cross-functional program teams (including launch planning).
- Contribute to scientific/medical communication planning; review and approve scientific publications, investigator-initiated study proposals, medical education grants, and corporate communications.
- Shape independent investigator research areas of interest; collaborate on phase 3b/4 study direction/design to build the data package for future label updates.
- Collaborate with sleep medicine medical directors on education focus and review CME grant applications.
- Build relationships with key opinion leaders, researchers, medical societies, and patient advocacy organizations.
- Collaborate with Health Outcomes Research and Patient Advocacy to represent the patient voice.
- Provide internal medical/scientific training and represent the team to senior leaders.
Qualifications
- MD required; sleep medicine or neuroscience experience/training preferred.
- 5+ years biopharmaceutical industry experience; Medical Affairs experience preferred.
- Proven problem-solving, excellent written/verbal communication, and experience presenting to senior management and external stakeholders.
- Experience with peer-reviewed publications.
- Strong scientific background; creativity/flexibility.
- Working knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements.
Other
- Travel up to 25%.
- Hybrid: 3 days/week onsite in Waltham, MA (not fully remote).
- Base salary: $290,000–$340,000; eligible for annual performance bonus.
