Key Responsibilities:
- Build and sustain scientific partnerships with KOLs, investigators, and other healthcare professionals in an assigned geography.
- Identify and address unmet medical education needs; deliver balanced scientific information (including drug mechanism of action and emerging clinical data).
- Gather actionable medical insights to inform internal stakeholders.
- Partner with investigators and internal stakeholders to drive patient accrual, including as needed regarding Alnylam clinical trials.
- Identify key opinion leaders and cultivate expert networks for key disease areas.
- Develop, maintain, and execute US KOL and US Institution plans within geography.
- Implement a disease awareness tactical plan within geography.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to identify opportunities for development of algorithms and guidelines to facilitate early diagnosis.
- Serve as a liaison to healthcare professionals, professional organizations, and disease-state advocacy groups; support patient support groups and educational foundations.
- Provide medical/scientific input to advisory boards and support review of speaker presentations.
- Contribute to company objectives for pre-approved products.
- Provide educational meeting support at scientific congresses.
- Coordinate required medical, legal, and regulatory review/approval of field documents for distribution/presentation.
- Requires 60–70% travel.
Qualifications:
- PhD, PharmD, DNP, or MD with 3–5 years’ industry experience.
- Proven basic science and/or clinical background for scientifically meaningful HCP exchange.
- Prior rare disease, cardiology, or neurology experience (strongly preferred).
- Experience in clinical research, patient recruitment, and investigator-sponsored trials.
- Experience in medical education and KOL management.
- Effective communication of evidence-based scientific information.
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally; manage shifting priorities; decision-making and accountability.
Benefits/Pay:
- U.S. pay range: $162,800.00–$220,200.00; eligible for annual short-term incentive and long-term incentive (e.g., equity).
