Sr. Director, Translational Medicine Lead, Autoimmune

Role: Senior Director, Translational Medicine Lead – Autoimmune, responsible for shaping and leading translational strategies for complex autoimmune programs within Moderna's immune therapeutics portfolio. Responsibilities include defining clinical biomarker and mechanistic strategies, integrating disease biology, immune mechanisms, pharmacology, and clinical outcomes into development plans; advancing cross-program biomarker platforms; and providing senior scientific leadership for portfolio decision-making. The role involves mentoring scientific teams, engaging with external immunology experts, and influencing program governance. Requirements: PhD/MD/PhD in immunology, autoimmune disease, or related field; 10+ years of biotech/pharma experience with a proven track record in autoimmune translational strategy and clinical biomarker development; deep expertise in immune tolerance, T- and B-cell biology, immune monitoring, and mechanism-based drug development. Preferred: experience across multiple autoimmune diseases or modalities, familiarity with emerging technologies such as mRNA therapeutics, and a strong external research network. The position operates in a hybrid model with significant leadership in cross-functional teams, external collaborations, and scientific presentations.
